Are you crafty? Want to do paint you’re own pottery?
Posted on September 1, 2010 · Leave a CommentA couple of years ago, I became interested in the painting clay pots. I started off small and graduated to larger projects. My biggest project to date is a nativity scene and so far, it has withstood 2 moves and a couple of kids. What I am working on now is a set of Halloween pumpkins and I am hoping to get them done before October 31st. If you are crafty or not, and this is something that you might want to try, then head to Just Kiln’ Time. It’s a paint you’re own pottery shop which is open five days a week. If you have a special project you are working on and can’t find what you are looking for, Just Kiln’ Time might be where you find it.
From where you are at Village at Lake Park, Just Kiln’ Time is about 15 minutes away. Here are the directions.
Taste of Smyrna:Say goodbye to summer
Posted on August 30, 2010 · Leave a CommentThe “Festival of Delectable” is Saturday, September 18, 201o, from 11am to 8pm. This is the event of the season you do not want to miss. There will be over 30 local restaurants who are going to treat us to their culinary delights. I am the first one to admit that I do have a weakness for great food, so I will definitely be there, making my way to the various food vendors, sampling their tasty food bites, which will cost you anywhere from 50cents to $4. Not only will there be food, there is also live entertainment scheduled. Scott Thompson, will be performing on the Main Stage and let’s not forget the kids. There are inflatables, a rock wall, which is one of my favorites and an obstacle course. So, there is something for everyone at this festival.
Here are just some of the restaurants that will be at The Taste of Smyrna. See you there at the Village Green Lawn.
Admission is FREE.
Dali at Oglethorpe
Posted on August 23, 2010 · Leave a CommentWe know Salvador Dali as a painter. What we probably don’t know about him, is that he was more than that. His love of art involved him in the world of photography and sculpting. His most famous work of art is The Persistence of Memory, which is was created 79 years ago. His surrealist work reflected Dali’s own personality, his flamboyance and grandiose flavor for life, made him a favorite of eccentrics everywhere. You would only have to see a photograph of the great artist himself to know that he had an air about him, that he believed himself to be great. The Oglethorpe University Museum of Art is showcasing 14 pieces of Dali’s work. These lithographs have never been seen by the public before and will be on display until September 5, 2010.

There are hundred’s of people who have become sick from eating eggs that are infected with salmonella. Please check this list of recalled eggs.
Why you should change your AC filter
Posted on August 17, 2010 · Leave a CommentHow often do you change you’re air filter? Experts say that it should be changed at least once a month, but really several months may go by before you think about changing it. It is important to replace the filter and here are some reasons why.
If you have dirty, clogged filters, you will increase you’re energy bill because you’re AC unit has to work harder to cool you’re apartment because it’s dirty.
Air filters are a great way to reduce airborne pollutants that are in our homes. Filtering these out will increase the quality of the air we breathe.
Make sure that you replace you’re filter with a high energy efficient one. Cheap filters may not work as well and are known to recycle the dust back into you’re apartment.

New York Times Bestseller comes to big screen
Posted on August 6, 2010 · Leave a CommentJulia Roberts new movie, Eat Pray Love hits theaters next Friday August 13. A New York Times Bestseller, this is going to be a fantastic movie. I have read the book and loved everything about it. Elizabeth Gilbert did a wonderful job of putting one woman’s journey together in words. If only I could go on this terrific journey, maybe if I won the lottery.
Have you seen this on television?
Posted on August 2, 2010 · Leave a CommentI don’t usually stay up late, but over this past weekend I found myself channel surfing at midnight and saw a commercial for clothes hangers. Having a closet that is full of clothes, of which I only wear maybe half and I am always running out of room to hang stuff. These hangers are designed to give you the ability to hang more clothes in a vertical fashion. Now, I know these would work for me, so I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and purchased a set to try. WOW! What a difference it has made to my closet. I have so much more room and I have been able to coordinate clothes, I know that sounds a little odd, but it helps when deciding what to wear, especially for work.
If you want to try a set for yourself, these hangers are called ‘Wonder Hangers.’ They are $9.99 per set. I am very happy with mine and recommend them highly. Let me know what you think about them?
